2022 Vintage Summary

This vintage we began our adventure with Pinot Noir. We hand-picked 1.5 ton of Pinot Noir from a Lenswood Pinot specialist grower, who has supplied fruit to many iconic Adelaide Hills’ wine labels.

4 different clones over 3 parcels were crushed:

The clone MV6 after fermentation, prior to barrel, was dense in colour, offering liquorice spice with less pretty pinot aromas. A more structured broody wine.

  • The culmination of clones 114 and 115 was co-fermented and didn’t disappoint, with more lifted pretty aromatics of pinot noir.
  • The star of the 3 parcels and most complete wine, prior to barrel, was the D5V12 – intensely concentrated and a beautiful wine.

For the next 10-12 months the wine will lie in a combination of new and old French oak.
